(By C_bl_—Prcsa Association.—Copyright.) LONDON, November 23. D. __.her heads the list cf winning jockeys with 115 wine, F. Wootton being eecond with 91 .wins. W. Huxiev fills ninth place with 37 first..
D M«her was born in America, and did not commence riding in England till 1900. Since then his record has been remarkable, and though but twice first among the winning jockeys of the year—in 1305 and 1913 —he has only on two occasions this first year not counting) missed the first three, and his winning percentage has always ruled high. The data are aa follow:—1901, eecond (94 wins); 190., third U06); 1903. unplaced; 1901, third (115); 1903, unplaced; 1906, third (103); 1907. second (114); 1908. first (139); 1909, second (11G); 1910, second (127); 1911, third (99); 1912, second (109); 1913, first (115). His skill was noticed from tho moment of his first mount in England, and there is not a horseman to-d«y who can concede him an ounce. Year after year he biwi ridden brilliantly, and though, like every other professional, he has made mistakes, they represent a very 6Hkill percentage in the summary of his achievements. He l.»s been in the service of the leading sportsmen of England, and can claim success -.1 cue timo or other in the majority of >n which jockeys are ambitious to shine. lt«* has never come, into conflict with the ruling Turf authorities, and stands out ac prominently for his "clean slate" as he does for his jockeyship.
