NOTES.
(special to "the prejs. ,, ) WELLINGTON, November 22. The Customs returns for the last four weeks indicate the return to activity on the wharves. They were respectively £4873, £4966,' £9675, and £25.970. Mr Laracy states that the Shearers' Union' is responding well to the etriko levy, and has also voted £100 to the strike funds.
A member of the old Union of Watersiders, in a signed hitter to the 'Tost," states: —"I am returning to work, not by by-ways or . alley-ways, but by the King's highway, in fear of no man."
There is trustworthy evidence that the moderates receive no hearing at the meetings of strikers. Tho ra.bid element completely dominates these assemblies.
