BAKERS' DRIVERS
UNIONS ACTION CRITICISED
Owing to the short notice received of tho drivers' etriko, the Canterbury master bakers wore compelled to hold a meeting yesterday. The attendance was good. Tho position was discussed at length. The attitude of the Drivers' Union in' calling out bakers' carters, moro especially as they were ailowedto work unmolested by the unions of Wellington and Auckland, came in for somo severe remarks. Finally, it was resolved, and carried unanimously:— "That each master baker bo allowed to do as ho wishes in the meantime, and await further developments." The Canterbury Master Bakers' Association announces that owing to thecarters' strike the delivery of bread will be disorganised for a few days. Regular delivery will be resumed as soon as possible.
