WILDING IN FORM.
(FROU OCR OWN CORRJCSrONDENT). LONDON, October IT. A. F. Wilding is in great form at present. Indeed, "The Tirces" says he is playing so extraordinarily well that no one seems quite in the same class ac he. He is playing aC Queen's Club on the covered courts. One day be'won two singles, beating AI. Ruhl {a Helgum player) and Captain Koss without losing, or, indeed, being much in danger of losing a set. Captain Rofs pivo a good display, but his cotnpaxative weakness at xho back of the court was exposed by Wilding's service and hia severity of stroke. Against G. Ruhl the scores were: 6-1, 6-1, 6-2; against Captain Kos3: 6-4, G-3, 6-2. Yesterday the New Zoa'.andcr had ac his opponent P. M. Davson, who tip to a. point did very well. He led in tho tirst set at five games to two. and in the third at four games to one, but all the tiico it was felt that Wading had something in hand "Just at theiimortant time too," says "Tho Timos," "Davson faikd to press home the advantage hs bad gnir.ed. His eomparntive eiicccss scemtd to paralise his attack, and instead of backing his luck, so to speak, and going , out for *hot», he appeared to play for safety, which ended in destruction, for WlMir.g increased the pace> of h;s attack without loss of accuracy, and soon made up his lost ground" The score* were : —7-5, 6-2, 6-4.
