SATURDAY'S MATCHES.
THREE CENTURIES AT HAGLEY PARK. The third round of matches was commenced on Saturday in beautiful weather. Most of the teams were short-banded, the absentees being in - the ranks of the 6pecial constables. There wero no less than three centuries in ihe two senior matches at Haglcy [•ark, Sandman getting his three ii<nires in phenomenally quick timo, whilst Hickmott and Reese also batted brilliantly. EAST CHRISTCHURCH t. ST. ALBANS. Tins game had been fixed for Lancaster Park j but as the school sports will prevent it being played there next ..\itnrday, it perforce had to bo played tit Uaglev Park. St. Albans won tho - loss, Hick*mott and Miles opening to the bowling of Carltbn and Monaghan. A uood first-wicket partnership took the mlal to 63, when Miles mishit one to short-leg. Bishop hit up 14 quickly, but was then well, taken in the slips, and Brunton, who followed, was soon taken>at the /wicket. With 120 up Reeso was run out, and an Sandman joining Hickmott a fine stand was inudo. Tho'second century went up in sin hoar and 35 minutes, and Hickmott reached his' century a moment later. The. runs came at an' alarming rat<j, and .Sandman got his 100 in an hour ami a quarter, but ho was then caught at jwint. Hincksman was next, and at 325 Hickraott's long innings camo to un end. Jones catching hint near tho fence. Ukinson and HincKsman mado another good stand, the total being taken to 400 before Atkinson played on. Gordon was bowled with a full toss at 431, and tho innings closed a few minutes later for 433. Bcal and Criehton started East's innings, but iho latter was run ■out at 15.
