INTERESTING STRIKE FIGURES.
(press association telegram.) WELLINGTON, November 21. Here are some statistics (including a few approximations) to interest/ strikers and the general public. The Federation "called" a general strike; to-day the unionists "out" are less than 23 per cent, of tho aggregate of unionists (all kinds), .and only a fraction of the general body of workers. The following table compiled by the "Evening Post" covers New Zealand: —. Under Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act— Number of unions ... 322 Membership ... ... 60,622 Under Trades' Union Act, and Not Registered— Number of unions ... 24 Membership ... i.. 11,000 Total, 346 unions, members V 1,622 Under Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act— Striking unions ... 18 Membership .„ ... o,COO Unions in work ... ... 304 Membership ' ... ... 55,022 ESTIMATED STRIKERS. Seamen ... ... 2,000 Miners ... ... 4,000 Watersiders ... ... 5.U00 Other unions ... ... 5,000 Total ... ... 16,000 According to the return of registered unions in Auckland, there are 55 unions in that city, and 15 are involved in tho strike.
