STRIKE IN THE SENATE
GOVERNMENT AWAITING DEVELOPMENTS. (By Cable.—Press Association. —Copyright.) MELBOURNE, November 21. The Government is waiting further developments in the ISenate before tak,ing action. In the meantime, Bills restoring postal voting and ending preference to unionists in the Public Service await the Senate's consideration. The fate of these Bills, to which the bulk of the Senatorial Opposition is unfavourable, will probably involve a crisis.
The Senate is still on strike. Senator McGregor asked if the Government had done anything in regard to the no-confidence motion.
Tho Government representative said he had nothing to add to his previous day's statement except that nothing could be done By the Senate to cause tho Government to swerve from tho course decided upon. He -warned tho Senate that ite action would lead to a crisis.
Senator McGregor moved the suspension of the Standing Orders and the adjournment of the House.
Both motions were carried after further protests by Ministerialists against the blocking of business.
