QUEEN'S THEATRE.
"Th.* Black Circle," a secret society irnma. was the principal film screened jn tho new programmo at tbe Queens Theatre yesterday. The story Was certainly a*thrilling one. It opens with the t'hol't of Government papers during a ball at the Embassy. A mysterious card lett behind gives the due that the robbery is tho work of the Black Circle.* The action of the drama then brings in a young man galloping to ruin,' and his career is illustrated by dalwrate scenes of Continental racecourses, gambling saloons, and all the adjuncts of the fast life: Finally the vonng man yields to the request of another man to whom he owes a large sum ot-money, a gambling debt, joins tho -*ia<:k Circle, and is deputed to commit :i murder. H-* from • rime, however, and seeks safety in flight. Koaehing America, he enters tiie service of a rancher and marries the rancher's daughter. While he is on tour the sanctum of the Black Circle is invaded and all are captured with the exception of the one who introduced the hero of the story. That gentleman also makes a bolt for the States, discovers his erstwhile colleague and blackmails him. He is repulsed and vows ven-•_-e--nce. By trickery ho carries off the other man's wife, but is pursued and brought to bey on the edge of a precipice. A clover piece of lassoo work >olve-* a complicated situation; the girl is-rescued'and the villain dashes himself to death over tlio cliff. ''The Stolen Treaty"' was a good diplomatic drama ■*ell presented. ''Bucharest" was an interesting travel pictnre of a city which has come into great prominence lately. Other cnjoyahie films were ''Father's Chicken Dinner" (comic), and "The Gillen's Acrobatic I>uo" i vaudeville). This afternoon . two spe••ial films will be screened "The Little Princes'- in the Corner" and "The Ban•lit'*- Wife." From Monday onwards an orchestra of three instruments—■ piano, violin, and clarinet —will supply the music.
