GENERAL LABOURERS' AWARD
The awards in the industrial dispute between the Canterbury General Labourers' Industrial Union ,of Workers and the various employers, were filed with the Clerk jf Awards yesterday. .They are based, on the recommendations of the Council of Conciliation,, and the only material alteration made by the Court is that of increasing the minimum for general labourers employed from Is ljd to Is 2d per hour, which is the rate recently fixed in other centres. The four branches to which the awards refer are ' builders and contractors, wool and grain" stores, quarry : workers, and local bodies. Tho awards come into force on December Ist, 1913, and expire .in December, 1916.
