TO THE EDITOR OK ""THE PRESS." pi n I think it may do some good if I you could tno Public some reasons , why the strikers so emphatically object Ito the Arbitration Act, giving the i clause or clauses which they state they are unable to agree to. Also the I reason why the employers are so insis- ] tent upon* the strikers resuming 'work only under this Act. I feel sure that the public generally are not. conversant 'with the true grounds of the dispute, and think it i* time those particulars were given in full. If the Arbitration Act is arbitrary and unreasonable, surely it can be amended. If. on the j other hand, it contains reasonable provisions for settling industrial disputes and differences why is it that the strikers refuse an amicable agreement under these provisions?— Yours, etc., ONE OF THE PUBLIC.
