PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS.
I'OSITION OF TENDERS. (special to "the tkess.") WELLING TON, November 20. - Answering a question by Sir Joseph Ward in the House of Representatives to-day, the Hon. W. Fraacr (Minister of Public Worlcs) said that the tenders for the erection of the new Parliamentary Buildings had been before tho Tenders Board., and ono tender had been recommended. This tender was a satisfactory one, but until the contract was signed he could not give particulars. Cabinet, the Minister added,, had decided to take the opinions of certain experts as to the description of stono to bo used building frontage. Alternative tenders had beon called for different kinds of stone. He hoped to, have tho report of tho experts in a day or two, and when it had been received a contract'wonld bo submitted to the successful tenderer for signature. Tho alternative stones tendered for were Tonga Bay granito, New Zealand marble, and Mount Somers stone.
