CRIMINAL SESSIONS AT BLENHEIM.

' (press association teuecrav.) BLENHEIM, November 20. At the opening of the Supreme Court, Mr Justice Chapman, addressing the Grand Jury, said the state of the district appeared satisfactory. John Soinerville Dall, charged with forgery and passing a forged cheque at Picton, pleaded guilty. Mr Conolly appeared on behalf of prisoner's parents to oppose prisoner being allowed probation. They wanted reformatire treatment for him. His Honour said ho thought counsel had no locus standi. Prisoner contended that it was his first offence, and he felt his position keenly. His mother was under a. misapprehension as to what reformative treatment meant.
The case was deferred till next day for the probation officer's report. William Mcßeth Miller, on a charge of stealing gas of the value of £102, extending- over a period of three years, was sentenced to two months' . imprisonment.
