PENINSULA HORSE SHOW.
A SUCCESSFUL FUNTTIOK. The first annual show of the newly-consti-tuted Peninsula Horse Show and Pastors! Aeaociation was held at Duvauchelie yesterday. The weather being ideal for a day's outing, tbe show wae largely attended by Peninsula residents and others from a distance- There were I€ 2 horses entered in the 'various classes, being thirty more than last year. Messrs F. ilurray and J. Loohhead capoWy filled the position of judges. The riding competitions suffered to a snail extent owing'to some of tho usual competitors being away as special constables at Christchurch. Great interest was shown by the ladies in the cookery exhibits, of which there was a ixx-ord number. Mr i\ J. Hill acted afi jiidfj© in this department. Messrs P. and I).
