Mr D. C. Bates, Government Meteorologist, supplied the following weather summary and forecast at n p.m. -ceaterdar-— Th« barometer rose iv the South during the night, but has fallen slightly everywhere to-day, and now thows but small gradients. Westerly winda havo pravai'cd, but a. nort.K>riv gale is reoorted this afternoon at Koikonrn. The weather has been changeable, with a, general improvement to-day. Present indications are for rariablo winds, with northerly and westerly breezes predominating; weather changsa'-le, cloudy to overcast at times, with »ca,t-<*r«d shower* in many parti of the country. -The barometer ia .unsteady, with a falling tendency.
