SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
♦ The New Brighton School Committee met on Tuesday. Present —Messrs G* H. Winny (chairman), J. Skinner, T. Uides, H. Hawker, C. Israelson, H. Goodland, A. P. Hopkins. Mr Manns .vas unavoidably absent. Tho Chairman referred to the recent death of the wife of the headmaster, and assured Mr Bishop, who was present, that both he and his family had the heartfelt sympathy of the community. One guinea was voted towards prizes for the boys and girls from tlie school who aro attending the woodwork and domestic science classes at tho Technical College. The Breeze's road School Committee wrote regarding boundaries. The matter was liold over until tho Chairman's return. Messrs H. Hawker and A. P. Hopkins were appointed the Visiting Committee. Votes of thanks were * accorded Mr J. Mason for fixing the halyard on the school flagstaff, and to Messrs McCree and Smith for their offer to paint the staff. Tlie headmaster reported that the roll number was 430.
