RIOT IN LADYSMITH.
The majority of the Indians at Kynoch's Works have struck.
A thousand deserters from the Elaandshagic collieries arrived at Ladysmith with their wives and families, where a magistrate addressed them. Their attitude was sullen nnd truculent, but they ultimately promised to return if their fellow-workers wero released from prison. A riot, however, occurred, but it was quelicd. The authorities are now arming tho police and enrolling an armed force of townsmen.
