There was a very pleasant gathering at Broadway's on Saturday evening to hid farewell* to .Miss Isabella Webb, who had been with the firm almost from its inception, aud who was leaving ■to get married. From the individual* members of the staff, and from -the Misses Broadway. Miss Webb received various presents; that from the staff as a whole was a handsome silver afternoon tea service. Tho firm «aye an oak ease of tahle cutlery and elver, as well as a cheque.
Br. A. S. Wohimann, Government "balneologist at Rotorua. accompanied far his wife and family, returned to Auckland on Sunday by the Maheno from Sydney. T>r. Wohimann has been Travelling in Europe during the last 'year, paying visits to all the principal Continental spas. As a result, he will have several important recommendations to make to tho Government, in order to bring the balneologist outfit at Rotorua up to date, and make it equal to that of any other spa.
