ELIZA FIRTH RECOMMISSIONED.
After lying idle in port for over four months, the well-known schooner Eliza Firlh has once more been plnced in commission. The vessel arrived in Lyttelton last December, and If*pr discharging her cargo o{ timber wna laid up at the low-level breastwork until Tuesday, when phe was placed on the patent slip for "sighting" and cleaning. She was relaunched yesterday afternoon, and was taken to the Gladstone pier to load a cargo of produce for Kaipara. Captain C. Ipsen, late mate of the Aratapu. has taken charge of the Eliza Firth, which is expected to sail to-morrow for Kaipara, where she will lo*id timber for Lyttelton. The Eliza Firth, which is owned by Mr J. B. Way, of Christchurch, is ono of the oldest and best known traders on the Now Zealand coast. She is forty years old. having been built in 1860 at Jervis Bay, N.S.W.
