FIRES.

At about half-jyast five last night a fire was discovered in the drying-room oi Messrs Smith and Smith's timber yard at the corner of the "Waltham road and ihe South belt. The brigade turned out promptly and extinguished the outbreak before much damage was done. Tho building was insured for £350 in tlio Royal office, and the contents for £830.
