CANTERBURY CRICKET ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the Competitions committee was held on Friday evening, aL tihe members being present. The Linwood club protested against' the East Christchurcb club owing to their lateness in starting, and asked that a 3 point win be awarded to tho Limvood team. After hearing the evidence of the two Captains (Messrs Worrell and Somerville) it was resolved that the East Christchureh club bo warned and notified that unless punctuality was observed, Rule 48 would bo strictly enforced. The Hon. Secretary of the X.Z A A Association wrote asking the Association to postpone cricket matches on March 20th, the date of the championship meeting. It was resolved, that while sympathising with the efforts to improve amateur athletics in Canterbury, the committee could not accode to the request. - It was jesolved ihat all matches arranged for Saturday, February 13th the date of the Otago-Canterburv match be played. testing against the committee's d&cision in the second grade match Sydenham v l»in\vood. It was resolved that tho committee adhere to its decision, and that Messrs Brinsden, Reid, and Wyatt draw up a report for presentation to the general committee. A letter from the Riccarton club, on the unsatisfactory state of the St Albans wicket, wes held over pending a reply from the St Albans club.
