ASHBURTON LAND SALE.
At Ashburton on Saturday, on account of Mr P. F. Knight, Mr James Smith, and Mr Sam Scott, a number of suburban building sections, situated on the Alford Forest road, and just outside the North town belt, were offered at auction. There was only a moderate attendance. One quarter •acrei belonging to Mi* Smith, was started at £80, and passed in at £100. Tho remaining lot® were offered and all passed; in. A twenty-acre lease-in-per-petuity section, situated at Chertsey, offered on account of Mr F. W. Page, was also passed in. On aocouiit of Mr Watkine, a pre». perty «*' 91 acres of land, with dwell-ing-house, situated et Tinwald, was offered; and, on account of Mrs Alexander, a quarteT-acr© section and four-roomed cottage, situated oh the East belt, Ashburton. Both properties were passed in, the former at £675, and the latter at £220. A three years' keso of eighteen acres of land, situated at Tinwald, the property of thjp Asbburton.A. and P._ Association, was sold to Mr A. J. Keith at 36s an acre.
