The grass track being available, some interesting work was witnessed. Broadsword was the first to get going, arid to was given a nice three-quarter pace gallop. Glcnculloch, moving in ■ his usual free ■ track manner, ran a raiie in lmin 47sec. ITuana- ' kyle cut out four furlongs in SOsec in good style. Tikitere and Helianthes finished together over six furlongs in lmin 21 2-Sth sec Applegarth and Bulletin spurted four furlongs in 52 2-sth sec. Stronghold and Kilts were sent a round, but they only became aseociated at the half mile post, the last four furlongs taking 53jeec. De Witte covered six furlongs in lmin 20sec. Flitaway was too good for Sharpshooter over the same distance, run in lmin 17 8-sth sec. Prim beat Chopping Block (late Probable) over ten furlongs in '2min 16soc. Bountiful had the best of Mustcrer over six furlongs, both moving freely. EUerton and Monkey Puzzle, with nothing between them, at the finish, ran s> mile and a quarter in 2min 18sec. Goldbeater and lied Hun cut out six furlongs in lmin 23ecc, both, moving smoothly. Somaroff, alone, covered seven furlongs at a good working gallop. Lady Lochiel easily accounted for £<nnius over six furlongs, run in lmin IB 2-oth sec. Tremulous covered seven furlongs in lmin 3Gsec. Contender took lmin 83 S-6th sec for the same distance. Nightlight ran six furlongs in lmin 23sec, and Grand Slam, moving freely, ran a> mile and a quarter, in 2min 16 2-sth sec.
Alter breakfast Che weather was very hoi, and not nearly so pleasant The Libyan cut out four furlongs in Sljseo, Hesperus taking 55scc for the same journey. Sea King moved Binoothly over four furlongs in 53sec. Biiccleuch, looking big and well, was given ft circuit at half-pace. Valdimar and Cymbiform cut out six furlongs in nice style. Bautade ran half a mile in Slscc. Chief Lochiel beat Ivanoff easily over five iurlonga in lmin sseo. Heortben was indulged in half-pace work. Vologda- and Greyio, finishing together, ran a mile in lmin 49 1-Sth sec. Ingoda spurted [our furlongs, and moved very freely. Koso Noble cut out six furlongs in lmin 20 2-Sth sec. Balaclava was much too good for Harvest over five furlongs, in lmin 5 3-sth see. Inchbonny and Eagleatone cut out five furloags in lmin 6sec, both going well. Sweet Angelus brushed over the samo distance in lmin 3 4-oth sec. Hilarity easily boat Santita over four furlongs in 60 4-sth sec. White Cockade, with a light boy up, beat Petrovna over seven furlongs in lmin 33 1-Sth sec. Northern Star and Giovanni ran a. mile in lmin 52J»eo, finishing together. A large number of horses did half-pace work.
