SHIPPING NOTES.
The w«t weather yesterday interfered considerably with. cargo-working on -Ifoa wharves. The Otnki and the Wakaivui, from this cniisp, were unable to load wool and other curgo sianding on tho wharf. The ptaki is cxpscted to finish loading and coaling operations to-day, and wiU ea.il tomorrow morning for London. The Wakanui will sail to-day for Xorth Island ports to compluto her loading. The Canopus, which arrived late on Thursday night from Westport, passed tho baxque Bankfields in Cook Strait. Three barquentincs wore also passed, and the schooner Falcon, going into Pelorus Sound, was sighted. Ouo of tho biirqueiitiues was probcb.'y the Vo'ador, which, in company with the Baekfiolds, left Lytttlton last Saturday. Captain Smith, of the schooner Clyde, which 'i-ived here last week from Gnsymouth, c.uted yesterday that he saw no sign of the overdue brigantine Kio Loge along the coast. He saw a quantity of floating timber, evidently portion of the deck-load of eomo sailing .ship, but. the timber was red pine, while tho Rio -was carrying kauri. Tho I'tderaJ-Hou'-der-Shire Lino steamer Fifoahire is bringing a largo number of immigrants from England. She left Liverpool on December 12th. and is duo at Auckland about February 11th.
Tho Tftlune has withdrawn from tho East Coast service, which haa been resumed by the "Waikare. The latter vessel ia due hero this morning from Dunedin, and will eail to-niftht. on arrival of the second express, for Auckland, via Wellington and East, Coast ports.
Iho Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's steamer Karamea is due ot Wellington from Gisbornc to-morrow. The vessel will complete loa-dir.g aT.d coaling operations at WOllingtoii. and -will leave thero on Thursday next, for London. The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Kaikoura is due at "Wellington tomorrow from Wanganui. The vessel is to sail Snnlly for London on February llth. The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Otaki has been delayed at Aucklnnd, and will not reach Wellington until Monday. The vessel is due at Lyttelton at the latter end of next week. The Brisbane hns been withdrawn for tho time beinc; from tho Ncwcastlc-Lyttolton coal trade, and 13 nt present en<rast<f in tho potato trr.d_ betn'-ccn Tasmania ar.d Sydr-ey. Captain Penninfrton, who haA been ou holiday leave, returned from Sydney by tho Mr.heno. nnd is going to Auckland to rejoin the Kittawa.
