Tlio collectors will be stationed at tho street corners tor tlie purpose of receiving from all and sundry any sum, large or small —preieraoiy large—tnat tliey can spare towards such, a uortiiy object. Tno secretary states that tne fc>x. John Ambulance Association have placed tneir rooms at the disposal of tne conunittec, and have given them, the uso of their collecting boxes, and tho committee greatly appreciate this action ot the Association. Another offer of assistance which is mucli appreciated is that made by Mr Adams to provide a iirotor oar to go round and. collect tho boxes wlien they become too heavy for the collectoni. Mrs Talbot and her committee have been busy making somo very attractive tables for the collect-ona, and tneso cshouia .prove to bt a special feature of to-day's appeal. All concerned are hoping that the weather will be favourable, and that tho result of the days operations will bo a very handsome addition to the building fund.
Additional amounts received include £107 collected hy Mrs Geo. Payling. This amount included the £30 given •by Mrs Payling and the £50 given by Mrs Phillips (Holly .Lea) for the endowment of cots.
Miss Nedwill has undertaken to rrake tho collection for the doctors' cot, and has almost completed tho collection of tho required amount. It is understood that tho dentists in tlio city are desirous of endowing a cot, and that already several dentists have intimated their willingness to contribute towards that object.
Mrs T. Leslie Crooke. secretary of tho Children's Ward Bui'ldiing Fund Committee, received word last evening that Madame Bernstein had collected £53 from the Arlington workshops, and had applied for a cot, to bo named 'The Addington "Workshops Cot."
