The Tariff Commission's report otf the engineering industry states that 77 firms replied that they wore unaffected by foreign competition in the' home market in respect to 600 products. Foreign tariffs, especially in France, Germany, the United States, and Central Europe, had seriously., interfered with export, in many branches of engineering. Where colonial preference had operated upon engineering products, there had been great bene.fit.
