GREYMOUTH, January 29. To-morrow morning the members of the Granity, Miilerton, Stockton, and Denniston Unions will hold a conubined meeting at \V_imangaroa .ior the purpose of taking into consideration the question of tho eight hours' bank to bank, and also the medical inspection. Medical inspection hus been enforced by th_ Westport Coal Company for several years, but has always been strongly objected to by tho men. The Stockton Company have intimated their intention of instituting a medical examination, but the men declare they will not Bubmit to st. Mr R. Semple, President of the New Zealand Miners' Federation, loft for Westport last night in order to bo present at the conference. It is announced that the executive of the New Zealand Miners' Federation has decided to bring the various employers at Roefton before the Arbitration Court, charging them with a breach of the Act in causing a lock out in connection with th© recent trouble.
