A CURATE AS STOKER.

Tho Rev. W. B. Soole, curate of St. Mary'a Church, Donoaster, England, recently carried out a challenge made to him by the men employed at the'local gasworks. Invited to ni*end a special service for men at the church, these workmen told him he had never worked, and challenged him to, do their labour. Mr Soole accepted the challenge, awl did a shift, including stoking, from 6.30 to 4.30. At the dinner hour the vicar (Rev. T. Collett) appeared with bis dinner, which the curate ate wita the other men. Mr Soole's decision having become known, a number of peraone (save a London paper) visited the works to Bee him at his unwonted task.
