A lecture on University Life at Oxford," illustrated by limelight pictures, will h> given in the Alexandra Hall to-night by Mr R. F. Drury, 8.A., of Wadham College, Oxford.
The Canterbury Caledonian Society will attain its majority ma the 25th inst., when the twenty-first annual meeting will be held in tlie rooms, Hereford street, at 8 p.m.
The annual meeting of the St. John Ambulance Association will take place at the City Council Chambers at 8 p.m. to-mor-row. The Mayor will preside, and present certaficates to the successful candidates for the past year. A large meeting of gentlemen met last night at Sumner, and arranged for an open air concert :o wind up with a dance on Brooking's lawn, on Tuesday evening next. The object is to collect funds for sending a team of Sumner firemen to compete at the Napier competition. .
A reply to Mr Jas. Lyall's address on "Eternal "Punishment' will be given -y jut Ernest Tuck, Evangelist, at the Choral Hall next Sunday, 7 o'clock. Questions will be allowed.
