COALGATE
The monthly market was held at Obalgate on Friday, when about 3000 sheep and lambs came forward. The bulk were lambs, the majority being in the fat pens, two or three lots extra good. No freezing sheep were penned, tihe balance of the fats being crossbred ewes of butchers' quality. The attendance was an average one. and bidding was good all round. The following are the prices:—Fat lambs (best) 14s 6d to 15s 6d, the Rev. Ronaldson and Mr, John Beattv toppimr the market at the latter price*. Mr Wilfred Hall obtained 15s for a line of .about 200. Fat crossbred ewes 12s to 16s 6d, rape lambs 10s 2d to 1_«, two-tooth crossbred wethers 13s lOd, four and six-tooth crossbred ewea 14s 9d.
