(PRESS ASSOCIATION- TELEGRAM.)

DUNEDIN, February 15. The team to represent the South Island against the Englishmen was selected by Mr J. Fowke last night as follows; — Callaway, Frankiah, D. Reese, Sims, Orchard, and Boxshal! (Canterbury), Fisher, Downes, Siedeberg (Otago), WHson (Southland), and Ong-ley (Westland). Emergencies—Howden (Otago), and Howell (Canterbury).

The <tean_ as selected; is Tather stronger in its bowling than its batting, but it is almost certain that some changes will have to be made, as it is extremely doubtful whether all the Canterbury men selected will be able to obtain ths necessary leave.
