INQUEST AT THE HOSPITAL.

An inquest concerning the death of a young woman named Ada Elizabeth Timms, who died in the hospital on Thursday, was held on Saturday before Mr R. 'Beetham, district coroner, and a jury of whom Mr J. Nancarrow was chosen foreman. Mary Ann Timm., the mother of deceased, gave evidenoe that- her daughter was just twenty-one yeara old. Her daughter had never advised her as to her conditio-, and she did not know that the- girl had been keeping company with a young man. Adelaide Webb stated that she was sent for on February 3rd to attend the deceased, who " told her what had happened. A doctor was sent for two days later, and the girl was sent to the Hospital the day after the doctor saw her. Dr. Crook© gave evidence that the girl was admitted to the Hospital on Friday last. Slio was in a semi-conscious condition, and was suffering from blood poisoning. Ho operated on the girl, who never really regained complete consciousness. Dr. Symes, who had made the post . mortem * examination, said that he had I found tho body emaciated, and all the in- • ternal organs" showed distinct signs of blood poisoning- He was of opinion that, death had resulted from blood poisoning. There were no signs that the girl had been tampered with. The jury returned a verdict in accordance i with the medical evidence. j
