E. «olly, Mr R. F. Jolly, and Mr Vs. Hervey left for the South by iho express yesterday moaning. Misses Burrows (2) left for the West Coast yesterday morning. ' Mr W. Laurie left for Rangiora yesterday. Recent callers at the local agency of the Tourist Department were:—Mr P. HaAlyburbon Miller (Wellington), Mr Harold Wilson (Wellington), and Mr v. S. Wiloox (Sydney). Mr A. Burtle (Dunedin), Mr Alister Brown (Wellington), Mr Graham (Wellington), Mr and 1 Mrs Wilcox (Wellington) Mr and Mrs Martin (Sydney), Mr and iMrs F J. Shand (Glasgow), Mx H. J. Wynne (Dunedin), Mr H. W. Show (Melbourne), and Mr J. W. Fitzgerald (Dunedin), arrived in town , yesterday.
Mr G. H. McHaffie vraa a passenger from the South by yesterday evening's express. 'Dr. and Mrs Crawshaw, who are settling at Kaiapoi, arrived from England on Wednesday.

Mansfield , (Waimate). At Amuri Grange: Mr and Mrs Carmen, Mre and Miss Flnnnagan, (Mr Horsnell, Mr Clark, Mies Hampton. At Langley Vilk: Mr Lewis (Sumner), Mr Trounce (Christchureh). Mr John Tinline, John Connal, and Mr J. Pow, are also on a visit to theTHanmer Springs. « Yesterday tie veteran cricketer, Mr Wilmer, captain of the Veteran Cricket Club, entered upon ihis eighty-seventb year. He was the recipient of very hearty congratulations and good wishes from his "boys" on the occasion. According to "Pasquin," in the "Otago Witness," in all probability Mr and Mns Percy will, after the South African tour of the Poilard Opera Company, nail for England. It is the young comedian's ambition to set foot in London and try his fortune in that city of instant failures and instant successes. Mr Phillips, the governor of the Dunedin gaol, is being retired as from March 31st next. The Rev. A. Beavan, vicar of St. John's, Rangiora, wfio is to be married shortly, was yesterday afternoon presented , with a set of table cutlery in honour of the event.
