RESTRICTION OF IMMIGRATION. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received February 12th, 8.57 a.m.) CAPETOWN, February 11. Four hundred coolies were not allowed to land in South Africa, and numbers of Continental Europeans have baen provisionally detained, but will possibly be repatriated. Owing to the prevalence oi piaguc in Durban, Asiatics, whether furnished with permits or otherwise, are not admitted to the Transvaal or Orangia. Immigrant Russian Polish Jews, chiefly undesirables, are evading tne Cape subsistence regulations by borrowing from the Jews of Capetown, who subscribed £6000 for the purpose within a few 'hours.
