DOMAIN BOARD.
TJie first meeting of the newly-appointed Domain Board woe held yesterday. Present—Messrs H. P. Murray-Ayneley (chairman), R. Westenra, Jacques, H. U. EU,'M.H.R., Humphreys, Hon. C 0. Bowen, the Mayors of LLnwood, Sydenham, and Christchurch. On the motion of Mr Ell, eeconded by Mr R. Westenra, Mr Murray-Aynsley rwas elected as Chairman of the Board. Mr Westenra moved—"That the quorum of the Board be fixed at three." ■ . Hon. V. O. Bowea seconded tie motion. Mr £11 (thought the number proposed was too small out of thirteen members. The Chairman explained thai they had several members who were also members of the Legislature. This reduced their quorum considerably. Mr ML moved—"That the quorum be five." The Mayor of Lin-wood seconded the omemJment, which, on being put, waa lost, and the original motion carried. The Executive Committee was appointed as follows: —The Chairman., Messrs Murphy, Jacques. Hon. C. C. Bowen, and the Mayor of Chrisfccburcb. Mr 'Ell suggested that the Board ehould meet once a month alt least, and that the Executive ehould do the work in the interim. In looking through the' minutes he found uialt the Executive had been doing a good deal of the work which really should » doae by the Board. He moved—"That the meetings of the Board be held once a month, and that the Executive do carry on the work <hiring the time between the meetings;" Hon. C. C. Bowen seconded the motion, which' was agreed to. The Chairman said.that out of respect to the memory of the late Hon. W. BoJleston. he now moved'—'That the Board ad-1 journ." The motion was agreed to.
