The H-nemoa left for Southern lighthouses at £.15 a.m. yesterday. The Wakatu arrived from Cheviot early yesterday- morning, and left for Cheviot, etc., in the evening. The Victoria, which arrived at 6.30 Ovia. yesterday, lefts Sydney a>t 5 p.m. on Sstturdlay, and arrived at Wellington at noon on Wednesday. She experienced smooth seas and fine br-gJrt weaither throughout the passage, and left Wellington at 4.80 p.m. cm Thursday. The Victoria left for Melbourne, via Hobart, at 5.10 p.m. Tho Tarawera arrived from Wellington at 7.30 a.m. yesterday. The Tokomaru returned from Gieborne at 10 am. yesterday. She will leave for Wellington on Monday. The Union Steam Ship Company* Aparima arrived at Auckland on Thursday morning, after a smart passftge from Calcutta, Singapore, and Samaran (Java). She commence-! the voyage from lnora. on the 4th January with a cargo of Eastern goods, so that she has been only thirty-one days on the way. including stoppsgea. She is expected at Wellington on Monday with about 800 tons of cargo to land. Captain Courbarron is in command.
Captain North is now in charge of the Nambucca. vice Captain Fiak. The Fifc-hir© was expected to leave Napier cm Thursday night for Wellington. From that port she will coma to Lyttelton, Timaru, Port Chalmers, and the Bluff.
The Tutanekai, after completing the repairs to the Cook Strait cable, will go to Greymouth
for sleepore. She arrived at Wellington front her cable work on Thursday morning. The brokers for the owner* of the steamer Ansgar, which left New Yo_rk on December 3rd .or Sydney, have cabled to the Australian agent* that they "fear something must have happened to her."
The Taiori left for Westport at 5.5 p.m. yesterday. Tho Falcon left for Havelook at 1 p.m. yesterday. The ltekaia is expected from Port Chalmers to-day.
The Ell on Ballaitce cams off the slip yeetcrdej jnorniag. The Ham-tsj-gi's departure for Foxton, etc.. has been postponed till to-day. The s.s. TJpolu called at Timaru yesterday horn Akaroa, and after landtag 80 tons of general cargo and 140,000 ft ol timber, ■ she left for the south ait 3 p.m. The Whakaitone.arrived at Timaru from Lyttelton yesterday morning to take in 15,000 carcases of frozen mutton, 4000 bales of woof, and SO casks of tallow. She is expected to return to Lyttelton on Mont-ay.
