The Bank of England returns published to-day shoiv that the stock of gold coin, etc., is £32,546,000, the reserve£*<+,263,oCo, percentage of reserve to liabilities 48.69. Notes in circulation £28,576,000. Public deposits £9,410.000, . other deposits £40,301,000. Government securities other securities £28,636,080.. Three months' bills are discounted at 3 5-16 th per cent. Consols, 93. New South Walee 4 per cents. £109 10s, 3£ ditto New Zealand 3J per cents. £104. Other stocks are unchanged. Tin wheat markets have declined eixpence on the strength of an official statement that the Argentine crop is fourteen and a quarter million quarters, with an export surplus of ton millions. The markets have since recovered slightly. Cargoes are quiet; Californian 31s 9d. Butter is dull; Colonial 100 ato 102s; Australian very difficult to sell;' Danish unchanged. Cheese is firm. Copper, on spot £56 17s 6d, three months £56 12s 6d. Tin, on spot £131 10s, three months £132. Iron, 53s Id. Lead is unchanged. Spelter, £20 5s 3d. Silver, Iβ 10d. Sugar, first marks 9s 3d, German 7s lid. The Bradford wool market shows more business ; forties 10d, forty-sixes common sixties 234 d, super 24id. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, have received the following cab.c message from their London office, under date February sth: — "Spot prices of New Zealand frozen lamb are dearer. The market is strong owing to email stocks, otherwise prices of frozen meat in general are scarcely maintained.
