by the Rev. J. C. Patereon, M.A., and speeches, eulogising the good work done by Mr Shaw during the seventeen months he hod been among the congregation, were made by the> Chairman, Rev. G- B. Inglis, and Messrs Brock, McKay, Gunn, and Pitt. The presentation was made by Mr W. McKay. Mr Shaw is shortly severing his connection with the congregation in order to complete his studies for the ministry. Dr. and Mrs Hayes, Temuka, leave Lumsden to-day for Te Anau and Milford SoundMr W. H. Griggs is taking a short holiday at Stewart Island. Messrs W. F. Joynt, A. Louisson- A. V. B. Bishop, and W. Barnett, members of tho Chrietchurch" Bowling Club, leave tonight for We-ling-on and Nelson, where they intend playing a series of friendly rink games with the local clufos. Matches have beeai arranged with the Wellington, Newtown, Victoria, 1-rorndbn, and Nelson Clubs.
