CYCLING.

The Christchurch telegraph messengers held their annual road race yesterday, the distance being from the Plough Inn to Yaldhuret and back. William Mahoney won by a wheel, W. Peryer being second and Allan third. There was a splendid finish, five yards covering the placed lade. The special prize for the fastest tune was won by O. Hampton, in 35 minutes, the winner's time being 36min.
