CORRESPONDENCE.
» TO CORRESPONDENTS. B.R.—The correspondent to whom you refer only made the suggestion ironically.
THE TOWN BELTSTO THE EDITOR OF THS TBESS. Sir,—An old colonist just about leaving for England, recently in conversation asked me what I supposed would become of the present four City Belts if " Greater Christohurch" became an accomplished fact, suggesting at the same time that they might b* Te-named, as streets, with the names of the first four chips. And seeing that the Belts have served their turn under their present names, I venture through you to put this suggestion before the public of Greater Chrietohurch, hoping to see it ca tried into effect, not only as a memorial of the arrival of the pioneer ships, but also of the union of Christchuroh with the three adjoining boroughe, which was made a certainty aa the result of the vote taken in Sydenham yesterday.—Yours, etc., CANTERBURY NATIVE. Christchurch, February sth, 1903.
