Sydenham, where the battle has fiercely during the pact week or so, yeflterday decided in favour of ainal That deciejon has confirmed the polls taken in St. Alban* and Linwood, and now all that remains to give effect to the -wishes of the burgeesw of the different boroughs uniting » the presentation by each Council oi a petition to his Excellency the Governor, praying that the districts be united, and the iesue of his Excellency's proclamation granting the prayer of the petitioning Councils. A larger number voted yestwday at Sydenham on the proposal than voted in the city when the -poll was taken on the matter; the Sydenham voters numbering 1573 against 1287 in the city. Sydenham'* majority in fgyour of the proposal w«s not 60 large as t«gl.city's; in the city the majority wa* 112y, in Sydenham it was 518. l*retvming that the four hundred persona who pcfctitaed vot«* in Sydenham, and the city or tko other boroughs, all voted at Sydenham yesterday, thtre is still a fairly large majority of Sydenham voters in favour of the proposal.
