BOROUGH COUNCILS.
KAIAPOI. At the fortnightly meeting on Tuesday there -were present the Mayor (Mr Daly). Crs. Pearce, Bugg, Blackwell, Keetley, Mid'gley, Parnham and Eagle. A letter was read from the Police Commissioner, st&ting that eveiy care would be taken to ghe the town full police protection. The Lyttelton Council, offered 9ft sin water pipes at 6n each. It was decided to inspect the same. The receipts were £214 16.1 2d, and the credit balance was £129 15* Bd. Accounts (including £217 19s for the bath, which has in all cost £352 19s) amounting to £247 16s 5d were passed for papnerrt. Mr C. H. Wright, valuer, handed in the valuation lust amounting to £10,350 5s 6d on the annual rental values. I; was decided to fill the bath by means of the steam fire engine, the water to be obtained from the river.
