CANTERBURY v LORD HAWKE'S TEAM.
I TO THE EDITOR OF THE TRESS. I Sir,—There Las been a lot of correspondence as to what should and what should not be. I <Jo not intend filling your valueable space unnecessarily, but I would like to sound a note cf advioe to our representatives. On the whole, they are no doub; v sturdy lot of players, tiiid amtnato reason, so I would* like to say "just right here," "hit bard and keep tlte ba-l!s down," and so earn the appreciation of the public, who W # to see a "whoJe-hearfed" game, and not one where the pkyer* w "out before they are in."' Another matter I cm aaxioua to ventilate -which, if r.ot of vital ,impoitm:ce will add me-fit to the g/irr.'?. I refer to the practice of Uavn appMT'wg in the field, more particularly when fielding, with all kinds of head gear. I sincerely hope the Canterbury Cricket Association will not only urge, "but insist, on their reprtwntatives wearir,? their provincial colours at any rate in thba departrovEi. What are tlwV provid-fd for? Trusting my remarks will"be taken seriou.Wy by the CCA. and the players alike.—Yours etc., INTERESTED.
