THE SYDENHAM POLL.
Wβ have little to add to-day to our previous remarks regarding the poll to be taken in Sydenham on the subject of joining Greater Christchurch. The question has been very ably discussed in public meetings held in the borough, in, the correspondence columns of the papers, and elsewhere, and we have little doubt that most of our readers have made up their minds either one way or the other. The strong point which we would impress upon them is that a turning point has arrived in the history of the borough, and that it is their duty to vote for the course which they deem to be in the best interests of the inhabitants. The credit of the town, at any rate, demands that there shall be a large vote at to-day's poll, so that it shall not be said that the electors were apathetic and indifferent on a matter of so much vital importance. Judging from the indications which hare been given, we have little doubt that if those who believe in a Greater Christchurch take the trouble k> record their votes the proposal will be carried by a substantial majority.
