ANNUAL MEETING.
In tho aOsence of the President, Mr AKay?, one of the vice-presidents, presided at the annual meeting of the Ohriytebureh Musitai Union held last night. The annual report stated ihat there tras a considerable addition to tlie list of subscribers, the total reaching i 516, againet 255 for the previous year. The number of peiforming members hod bo*n maintained. For the musical success of the season, the Committee had again to itecord their appreciation of the successful effarbe of Mr F. M. Wallace as conductor; to Miss Lucy Cook as honorary leader of the orchestra; and to Miss Katie Young, the honorary piaaiiste, for their ever ready assistance throughout tJ*e season; and they uealrod to record their thanks to the working members, particularly to die orchestra, for their regular and punctual attendance at rehearsals, end also to Mr T. Garrard, the hon. secretary and treasurer, for his unabated zeal in the interests of the Union. TJi« bala-nce-sheet ebowed tliat the receipts for the year had amounted to £540 4s 6d, and the expenditure to £514 Ms 4d, leaving a credit balance of £25 10s 2d. The assets were valued at £275 10s 2d, whik the liahUities~were nil. Tiie fallowing officers wre elected: — President, ilr Justice Denniston; vice-pre-sidents, Messrs A. Kaye, W. D. Meares, H. H. Loughnan, W. Izard, Frostkk, and Bishop ' Julius ; committee, Mrs Garrard, Mm WiCeon, Messrs Stewart, Gnndersen, Quill, Bonnington, Mamner, Beckett, and Horsley; lion- secretary and treasurer, Mr T. Oarrard; hon. librarians, Messrs F. C. B. Bishop and H. E. Jarman.
