The family consists of t&e widow, two married eons (Thomas, a carter, of Aidgate, and Kobert, a gardener, of Stirling West), and three dauguiers (Miiw Elizabeth Cullen, of Adelaide; Mus John Creek, of West Mibcham; and Mrs William Raynor, of Mitoham). Deceased had lived in the district for 46 years, and possessed considerable real estate. He had over £1200 in the bank. He kept very little money in the faou#e. THE INQUEST. Mr (J. H. Ayiiffe conducted an inquest at the iocaf Courthouse. Thomas Oulkn was examined ait length, and gave evidence ■wbiolh threw no furtfieir light on fch© circumetanoee, and the whole affair is a great mystery. The Coroner intimated that he would probably recall the witness at a later stage, and after Schumann had given ms evidence the inquest wax adjourned. The whole of th« key* of the house are missing.
