THURSDAY NIGHTS MEETING.
In the report which appeared in yesterday's issue of the meeting in connection with the Greater ChriMchiirch proposals, ii»"ld in the Druids' Hali, Sydenham, on Thursday night, it warn stated that tiie mutiion—"That this meeting is not in favour of amalgamation with the city"—wa» carried by one vote. The opposite was the case, the motion being lost by one vote. Those who voU>d for the motion—that u> against amalgamation—numbered 29, and those against the mot-ion and cons-enjufintiy in favour of amalgamation 32. The chairman intimated that he knew that two ot those who voted against the motion w<ie not ratepayers, and disallowed their voWe, announcing thai. 29 voted for and 30 against the motion, which wae declared lost.
