CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION.
At a meeting of the Canterbury Lawn Tenuis Association held last night, th*re were present Messrs E. J. Ross (Canterbury) in the chair, Jactecm and Laurie (Oanterbary). Wilding (Ashburton), Murray awl Steveoson (Avonside). Ferguson and Goss (Linwood), Oxford (Sydenham), HUwry (WaatstoA), Wrig'h.t (hon. secretary), ai»d BaUaatyne (assistant secretary). It was decided to'hold an Association Tournament »t Lancaster Park commencing on Saturday, February 21st. and to be continued on sub•equeat "Saturdays. The events to be played include Men's Championship and Handicap Singles and Doubles, Ladies' Champion•bip and Handicap Singles and Doubles, and Championship und Haadica;j) Combineds. In all probobility, towards the end of the tournament a-n imterprovindul matcii between Canterbury and Wellington will be pLaytd. The lknciu't*r Park courts are to Dβ put in first-class order, ;uid eight or ten courts will be avaikble for players. Messrs Ross, Ballantyne, and Feiguson were appointed a handicapping committee. Entries for the tournament closa with Mr RA- Btdlantyne on February 14th.
