-Sam Slick," while admitting that there has bsen a great advance in the sanitary condition of butchers' shops, given the credit to inspection and public opinion, and goes on to say: ""'There is one advance made by the butchers 'on their own.' without the aid of the facts above referred to, and that » in the price of iweat." He declares that mai-ket prices for stock have been declining every week, and that in ordinary fairness the "butchers should immediately make a substantial reduction in the retail price. "Lavender Water" forwards a complaint with reference to the carting of nightsoil through the public stivete in the daytime. In epite of the seated pans, he states that the practice is a most objectionable one.
