The Mayor and Cns. Hobson, Moore, Henley, Parish, Rennie, and Owen were present at tb,e la«t meeting of the Wooteton Borough Council. In accordance 'With the report of the Works Commßtee, Mr Garland's offer of material and n*lf coet ot cartage for the formation of a footpath m Bamiord street to Princes street bridge wae accepted. It wae decided to construct » floodgate on the outlet of the drain n> Clarendon terrace. A clause recommending the purchase of a horse and dray for the Council, in view of the increased cost ot cartage, was lost on the casting vote of the Mayor. The Finance Committee reported reoeipu* £688, and debit bank balances to the amount of £281 Is Id, and recommended for payment amounts totalling £13115s 6d. The report was adopted, and the accounts passed. The Premier wrote that no difficulty should be experienced! in obtaining a Government loan for channel.laW-
