LONDON, January 26. The "Daily News'" Pretoria correspondent reports that Mr Alfred Beit and the Boer Generals held an informal conference. The Generals claimed tliat the Government might repose more confidence in allowing the Boers to elect members of the Legislative Council. They might also grant an amnesty and equally compensate alt

burghers.

Mr Beit expressed moderate and con ciliatory views.
